I put this old thing back up because I didn't want it to disappear.
The place where the original site was hosted went away a few years ago, and the whole thing went with it. I still had most of the old files sitting around, and after a while it started bothering me that all this stuff was basically just gone. So I figured I'd put it back up somewhere.
Most of this site was written between 2001 and 2002, and that's the way I'm leaving it. A lot has happened since then. Some of the band information is obviously out of date, some of the links are dead, and a few of the RealAudio files and other odds and ends didn't survive. I'm sure there are things in here I'd write differently now, too.
I'm not going to try to bring everything up to date. I'm in a different place in my life now, and honestly I don't have it in me to start chasing down twelve years of releases, lineup changes, breakups, reunions, deaths, new bands, old bands, and whatever the hell else I missed.
But I spent a lot of years putting this stuff together, and a lot of it came from things I saw, heard, taped, collected, or was lucky enough to be around for. It seemed worse to let all of that vanish just because I stopped maintaining a website.
So here it is again. Pretty much as I left it.
If something says "last updated 2002," believe it.
